Gdrive On Its Way - An Online Data Storage Site From Google

News about Gdrive is not new.Its around for quite a long time now.But the recent word on Gdrive is that Google is preparing a service that would enable users to store data from their personal hard drives on its computers.
Users would be able to house files they would normally store on personal computers - such as word-processing documents, digital music, video clips and images -- on Google's computers, the Journal said, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The service could let users access their files through the Internet from different computers and mobile devices when they sign on using a password.

The service could be released as soon as a few months from now.

Google also plans to provide some free storage, with additional storage allotments avaiable for a fee. Planned pricing isn't known yet.

I don't think that Google will take long to release Gdrive.

Google Introduces Android - A Platform for mobile devices

Google Introduces Android - A Platform for mobile devices

Hello Everybody,
I know you must have heard the Word "Gphone".It came to us when Google broke the news that they will introduce a mobile device. Its coming but its not a mobile device. But something much bigger then that.It is called Android.Android is the first truly open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices. It includes an operating system, user-interface and applications -- all of the software to run a mobile phone, but without the proprietary obstacles that have hindered mobile innovation. We have developed Android in cooperation with the Open Handset Alliance, which consists of more than 30 technology and mobile leaders including Motorola, Qualcomm, HTC and T-Mobile. Through deep partnerships with carriers, device manufacturers, developers, and others, we hope to enable an open ecosystem for the mobile world by creating a standard, open mobile software platform. We think the result will ultimately be a better and faster pace for innovation that will give mobile customers unforeseen applications and capabilities.

Google Fight's Back -Introducing “Maka-Maka” In Response to Facebook

Google Fight's Back -Introducing “Maka-Maka” In Response to Facebook

As we all know that Google has lost the "Facebook bidding war" from Microsoft, but it is actually planning something really big.People in the Googleplex are using a code name “Maka-Maka” or perhaps “Makamaka”.
Its a part of Google's mission to bring all its applications under they the social layer.Maka-Maka is planned to be unveiled several in stages. Starting in early November. Google is planning to introduce a new set of APIs that developers can use to build applications for its social network Orkut, iGoogle.
As it is reported on Techcrunch Earliar:

"Google will announce a new set of APIs on November 5 that will allow developers to leverage Google’s social graph data. They’ll start with Orkut and iGoogle (Google’s personalized home page), and expand from there to include Gmail, Google Talk and other Google services over time.

On November 5 we’ll likely see third party iGoogle gadgets that leverage Orkut’s social graph information - the most basic implementation of what Google is planning. . . . Google is also considering allowing third parties to join the party at the other end of the platform - meaning other social networks (think Bebo, Friendster, Twitter, Digg and thousands of others) to give access to their user data to developers through those same APIs."

Google Killing the Link Farms - Pages Across the Web Lose PR

Hello everyone,
If you are a blogger and are wondering "What the hell happened to my blog's Page Rank"?Then i have a news for you.Google has started taking action against the website & blogs which were regarded as the link farms.
Yes you read it right linking to each others site was once a great think to do for the PR of the blog. But not anymore.Actually off late a sudden drop in the page ranks was seen across the web.Now the word has come from Google that it is penalizing websites, mostly blogs for putting up sponsored text links from their pages and posts. And this was made possible by the revolutionary Google Page Rank technology. For example a paid blogger posts a review or a blog post about their clients, for a small commission. And links came a number of blogs (By Cheating) - small and big, low PR and high PR, low traffic and high traffic. And Google PR was helping all that because it was designed to do so. So these tricky websites, which was supposed to have low PR because of negative factors, ended up with high PRs because of all the link manipulation that was going on. Thus, Google’s search was effectively manipulated with money, and thus the search results were also manipulated. The funny part is this that some of the sites are completely removed from the Google index.Form Example John Chow.

Find Free Anonymous Web Proxies Using Google Search

Find Free Anonymous Web Proxies Using Google Search

A free anonymous web proxy site allows any web browser to access other third-party websites by channeling the browser’s connection through the proxy. The web proxy basically acts as a middleman between your web browser and the third-party website you are visiting. Why would you want to do this? There are two common reasons:
  • You’re connecting to a public network at a coffee shop or internet cafĂ© and you want privacy while you browse the web. You don’t want the admin to know every site you visit.
  • You want to bypass a web content filter or perhaps a server-side ban on your IP address. Content filtering is common practice on college campus networks. This trick will usually bypass those restrictions.

There are subscription services and applications available such as TOR and paid VPN servers that do the same thing. However, this trick is free and easy to access from anywhere via Google. All you have to do is look through the search results returned by the queries below, find a proxy that works, and enter in the URL of the site you want to browse anonymously.

Google Introduces "Google Gadget Ads"

Yesterday Google launched Google Gadget Ads, customized "mini-sites" that run as ads on AdSense publisher websites. These ads are interactive, engaging, and will appeal to your users, simultaneously providing value to advertisers while getting visitors to stick around your site. The end result is that advertisers get more engaged users, users have a richer ad experience, and publishers opted in to image ads may see increased competition for their ad space.

What does a gadget ad look like?Below is the image of a gadget ad that is built to advertise AdSense program.

Gadget ads can take a number of shapes, sizes, and formats. If you're interested in seeing other cool gadget ads, you can check out at Google Gadget Ad Center. Also, rest assured that gadget ads must adhere to Google's editorial policies, so there won't be any distracting "punch the monkey" ads.

Ready to start displaying gadget ads on your website? While there's no guarantee that they'll appear on your site, you can increase the chances that they'll be shown by making sure you're opted in to image ads and using one of the image ad formats. Please note that the most popular sizes for gadget ads are the rectangle, leaderboard, and skyscraper formats.

Yahoo Mash: A Social Network Site from Yahoo !! Free Invitations Available

Yahoo launches mash — Yet another social networking site. Let’s chalk up another place to waste some more productivity on.

Most new websites seem to at least look enticing at first glance. I’m not really sure if they could have made this look anymore less interesting.

I joined after receiving several emails that someone “created a profile” for me (which is the new way of getting an invite, apparently). You can find me Here . Of course, it’s still in beta so who knows what kind of wonderful things will roll out next. Hopefully something a little more than a freak of nature ( scribble of a pet (facebook fluff-friends?), lame questions, and only a few modules (facebook applications?) to choose from. After browsing the site a little more I managed to find a few features that were slightly entertaining. Your friends are able to update your profile for you — changing anything from the layout to adding and editing modules.

Here is how Yahoo Mash Looks like right now. It's Currently in beta so u can only sign up if are invited to join the program.Thats why i've decided to give away some free invitations. All u have to do is to comment this post with your email & i will invite to the program.

"Blogger Play" Tool to see images uploaded to blogger in real time

Today blogger launched Blogger Play, a neat little toy cooked up to show you photos and blog posts as you’ve never seen them before.

Shortly after Blogger launched photo uploading two years ago, one of bloggers engineers whipped up a web page that would show us the pictures that were being uploaded in real time. The result was fun, often beautiful, but above all, compelling. They couldn’t stop watching.

Over the years they’ve kept this photo scroller as part of the Blogger offices, on a monitor or projector, as an interesting (distracting?) slideshow, and a reminder of the diversity and vivaciousness of Blogger blogs. The fame of the scroller spread within Google, until one day they were asked, “so, when are you launching this?”

http://play.blogger.com/

So here it goes blogger launches the tool that enables you to watch the pictures that are being uploaded in real time. All you have to do is click the link above than just sit back & watch.

Orkut Now available in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu

In quest to make orkut universally accessible, Orkut is now available in 5 new languages: Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu. Indians have always been a vibrant part of the orkut community, and we continue to see more Indians joining orkut every day.Since there are many different nuances to these languages, orkut wants to hear your feedback. To help them improve the translation or tell us what language you'd like to see orkut in, you can visit this community on orkut: Indian Language Translations. They chose these languages initially because together they cover 80% of India. They do recognize India has more than 400 different spoken languages, but think these 5 are a good start, and hope that introducing orkut in these regional tongues brings orkut closer to many more of you to bridge the gap between language and technology. Viewing the orkut site in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil or Telugu (or any one of our other 12 languages) is easy.
  1. Click the settings button under your profile photo (or click the blue settings link at the top of any page).
  2. On the general tab, choose your preferred display language from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  3. Click save changes.
If you are having trouble reading languages on the "Settings" page, it is likely that your browser scripts have not been updated. For Internet Explorer, proceed to "Tools" and then "Windows Update". Here you should accept the Windows XP Service Pack 2 update. All languages are included in this update.

We hope this will help many more people enjoy orkut in their own language every day.

Now orkut allows users to Crop their Profile Images

"It's super easy: just select the file, click upload and you'll see a cropping window on the next page. Drag the window with your mouse to select the part of the photo you'd like to be your picture. You can also change the size and the shape of the window by dragging the corners to include or exclude as much of the backdrop as you'd like. When you're done, click the 'crop photo' button, and, voila, you will have a new profile photo.
